Decontrol Studio

Decontrol is creative direction studio based in Guatemala City →  working internationally.

Our process is born out of partnership, inspired by research and nourished by conversation. While our team is small and independent, we’ve cultivated a collaborative network of talented designers, illustrators, visual creators, web developers and artists resulting in pronounced forms of communication and tailored result for each project we work on.

Salon Granada

Salón Granada is a Concept Store in Guatemala City with a bold and contemporary vision focused on design and culture translated into fashion.

Our inspiration comes from the simple beauty of a ribbon, which we used as a starting point to create the initials of the logo. We expanded this idea in various forms and applications in the visual identity of this project, giving it a contemporary approach that creates an identity to explore fashion in an innovative way in Central America.

Guatedinning

Guatedining, a project we initiated several years ago, has been reimagined as a comprehensive zine exploring curren culinary landscape of Guatemala.

Our design proposal focused on creating a new printed publication that was not only visually different and fun, but also offering readers a unique perspective on how to cook something on our daily lives: a hamburger.

Minerva Bar

Inspired by early 20th-century Guatemala, Bar Minerva draws inspiration from local history and the famous Temples of Minerva, characteristic of the 1920s and 1940s.

We were in charge of the project's identity and verbal communication, creating a mix between Guatemalas old found footage, post-punk aesthetics and Latin rhythms, resulting in a unique atmosphere and visual language for this project.

Rascal, a London-based coffee roaster, is committed to sourcing the finest Guatemalan coffee directly from the source. By forging strong relationships with Guatemalan farmers, Rascal ensures traceability, quality, and fair trade practices.

We were commissioned to create Rascal's brand identity, incorporating pre-Hispanic geometric patterns and mid-century Guatemalan literary influences to create an new identity of that reflects Guatemalan heritage. The new logo, packaging, website, and merchandise position Rascal as a unique and compelling coffee brand in the UK.

Cruda

To create Cruda's image, we developed a logo with the character and originality that the agency conveys, accompanied by a proposal for an interactive website where the models and their profiles are listed. In addition to this, we were in charge of Cruda's first photo production, in which we worked hand in hand with the project's founders to portray the first models and thus create the agency's first campaign.

Easy Easy

5 — Easy Easy. We recently collaborated on the latest EP by the band @easyeasyband. Inspired by the number 5 and its representation of the color blue, we created a simple and symbolic proposal. "CINCO" is a project in which the entire team was involved as we developed the graphic identity, photography, and illustrations for the entire album.
